Good Housekeeping is sponsoring a short story contest with a September 15, 2009 deadline. Length: up to 3,500 words. Theme must focus on the lives of women today. Must be original; not previously published or a finalist in another contest. Include your name, address, daytime phone number and e-mail address.
Open to anyone 21 or older and a citizen of US or District of Columbia.
One entry per person. Will not be acknowledged or returned. Winners notified in December 2009.
Grand winner: $3,000 and possible publication in their May 2010 issue. Two runners-up get $750 and possible publication on their Website. Jodi Picoult is guest judge.
